Kamran Rahmatnejad, MD

Dr. Kamran Rahmatnejad is an Ophthalmology resident at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). He earned his MD degree from Hamadan University of Medical sciences, Iran. As a medical student, he was awarded the top student, ranked first in the university and second in the country in pre-internship board exam. His ophthalmology residency ran from 2006-10 in Farabi Eye Hospital, Tehran University of medical Sciences, Iran, while he was honored top resident award. After his graduation in 2010 with board certification, he practiced for 1 year as a faculty member at KUMS followed by 4 years in private practice. Before starting Ophthalmology residency at EVMS, he was a glaucoma research fellow at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Rahmatnejad has presented at American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He has published multiple papers in glaucoma screening, diagnosis, and treatment.
